Alana Wegel, M.S.
Clinical Case Manager & Therapeutic Coach

Alana was born and raised in New Jersey. Her wanderlust spirit took her across the country at age 17 to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. The spark was lit for helping those in need once she experienced the incredible fulfillment that comes from giving wholeheartedly to others in a summer job at a school for children with disabilities.  Alana started to understand then how important it is to focus on and enhance what people CAN do, rather than what they can’t.  She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and  completed her first 200- hour yoga teacher training shortly after graduation.

After a whirlwind of fun working in winter sports events across the nation, Alana moved to San Diego where she became a lead teacher and speech therapist for a private school in Ocean Beach. In 2011, the island of Oahu and its crystal warm waters beckoned. Alana worked  for the Hawaii DOE for several years until she finally took the daring leap to live out her dream to teach yoga full time. She basked in the glory of surfing, teaching yoga and enjoying the island life for several years. Eventually, her spirit called her to level up once so she could continue to help people on an even deeper level. She obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2020. Upon completion, Alana worked as a case manager in vocational rehabilitation while regularly teaching yoga, coaching teacher trainings and mentoring new teachers.

In May of 2022, Alana was called back to the mainland and her old familiar home of San Diego. She quickly discovered Active Recovery Network, and is thrilled to join the team of like-minded individuals who are committed to lifting people up, instead of tearing them down. Alana is an eternal student who is continuously exploring the mind-body connection, and the multitude of ways we can positively enhance our experience of life. Alana strives to uncover pathways toward peace, balance and purpose,  and believes consistency is the key to success. You can accomplish amazing things by taking one step, and one breath at a time!  Alana finds her joy outside of work in spending time with her family, surfing, snowboarding, dancing, singing, playing music, painting, reading, and writing.
