Dalea Alawar, Psy.D.
Dalea earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon in 2007. She earned her Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2012.
During graduate training, she worked in a variety of settings such as a halfway house, outpatient clinic, prison, and a psychiatric hospital. She completed her internship at North Central Bronx Hospital in Bronx, New York and postdoctoral residency at American Addiction Centers in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating, she dedicated the majority of her work to helping individuals struggling with drug addiction in both residential and outpatient facilities. In the past 3 years, she has been working at a detention facility in San Diego helping individuals struggling with suicidal ideation, severe mental illness, and substance use while also seeing patients in long-term therapy on the side at her private practice.
In 2015, Dalea worked as the staff psychologist for ARN. She provided individual therapy for those who were seeking coaching services. Currently, she has taken on the role of consultant. She provides feedback, insights, and suggestions to the case managers and coaches regarding their work with their clients. She assists with problem-solving and helps give direction in difficult situations. At this time, she is not providing individual therapy for clients seeking services at ARN.
